After
receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy,
Jon J. McMullen was admitted to both the Washington and Oregon State Bars.
He has successfully defended all types of criminal cases including DUI,
drug offenses (including medical marijuana, large marijuana grow cases and
methamphetamine manufacture), crimes of violence, sex crimes and homicide,
winning many cases at trial. Mr. McMullen has been the criminal defense
attorney of choice for many people who are involved in the criminal
justice system including other lawyers, police officers, probation
officers and court personnel.
While
in law school, Mr. McMullen studied International Human Rights and
Criminal Law in London, England. He worked with barristers on cases
involving British prisoners in captivity around the world through the
Prisoners Abroad Organization.
Mr. McMullen has
practiced criminal defense throughout Washington and Oregon and has
earned a reputation as a highly effective criminal defense
advocate in both legal negotiation and when arguing in front of judges
and juries. He was chosen by a poll of attorneys throughout the
state as a “Rising Star” in Washington Law and Politics magazine for three years. He is a member
of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Washington
Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Washington State Trial Lawyers
Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Washington
and Oregon State Bars Criminal Defense Sections.
Jon McMullen
has been asked to speak and moderate in various legal seminars focusing on
the defense of DUI, Domestic Violence, and legal ethics. He
has served as a legal expert/commentator for a variety of news programs
on criminal defense issues.
